Sen. Barack Obama to Urge Elimination of Nuclear Weapons

“Senator Barack Obama will propose on Tuesday setting a goal of eliminating all nuclear weapons in the world, saying the United States should greatly reduce its stockpiles to lower the threat of nuclear terrorism,” the New York Times reports today.

I’ll put up the transcript of the speech when it becomes available. In the meantime, click here for more Obama on nuclear weapons.

I've been waiting to hear more on this from him! Looking forward to the transcript. I want to know if he addressed specifics (as much as a presidential candidate can during a campaign speech).

I'm very happy to hear that we have two top-tier candidates who are actually discussing nuclear terrorism in a rational way. I don't see anything like that on the Republican side of the fence. Giuliani's "9/11, 9/11, 9/11" speeches don't count ;-)
